Your files, understood
Orvlet reads the formats real work lives in, indexes your folders on this Mac, and answers with citations you can click — then writes the report, the deck or the spreadsheet edit for you to review.
Knowledge collections
Point Orvlet at folders, files and PDFs. It indexes them on this machine with hybrid keyword and meaning-based search, and both you and the agent get answers with sources. Scanned pages are read by on-device OCR; files that may contain secrets are never indexed.
- Chunking by headings for Office files, PDFs and Markdown, with a chunk inspector to see exactly what was indexed.
- Watched sources (opt-in) re-index as files change.
- Permission-aware search across this Mac's sources, plus answers that verify claims against workspace files with highlighted citation badges.
- Topic discovery clusters a folder into themes without any external service.
Office files, PDFs and papers
Open, read, create and revise the documents you send to other people.
- Preview everythingWord, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, images, media, Markdown and code render in the preview pane.
- Read into contextThe agent extracts text from .docx, .xlsx and .pptx, summarizes CSV and TSV, and reads PDFs, archives, SQLite and notebooks.
- Create documentsBundled skills write Word documents, slide decks, spreadsheets and PDFs from a prompt.
- Tracked changesDraft a .docx with reviewed insertions, deletions and comments from a source document, ready for Word's review pane.
- Workbook-aware editsRead Excel workbooks with stable sheet and cell references, and make reviewable single-cell edits that leave everything else untouched.
- Scientific writingA LaTeX workspace with bibliography, figures, equation conversion, compile diagnostics, citation search and co-author comments.
- Scan to PDFImport document photos, reorder, crop and rotate pages, OCR them and assemble a searchable PDF.
- Math that rendersKaTeX for inline and display math in answers and artifacts, printed correctly to PDF.
- Compare documentsPull matching data points from several files into one comparison table.
Research with receipts
Search goes only through the backend you configure — SearXNG, Brave, Tavily, Exa, Kagi or DuckDuckGo — never a hidden default.
Deep research
/research plans the
questions, runs one researcher per query and writes a cited report. Provenance rules are
enforced in code, so a claim without a source is labeled as such.
Workspace briefings
Pull Git history, open pull-request diffs, source files and local docs into one briefing note for a project.
Company filings
Fetch a company's SEC EDGAR filings and XBRL facts on request and get answers that cite the filing they came from.
Your data, analyzed
Register local SQLite, CSV and Parquet files, keep a versioned model of their tables, metrics and dimensions, and refresh saved analyses when the data changes. Answers can include linked what-if charts, maps, diagrams and step-by-step lessons.
Qualitative coding
Apply a saved rubric to selected text and images, keep per-item evidence and scores, and review proposed deduplication before anything is merged.
Every answer can point back to the page, row or file it came from.

Everyday workspaces
Private spaces for the rest of life, built on files you import yourself. Each entry keeps its source; nothing is uploaded, and none of it replaces professional advice.
- MeetingsRecord or import a meeting, transcribe it locally, keep a summary with action items and discard the audio. Calendars macOS already has can be read to line up notes with events.
- LearningA guided study mode that checks understanding before it reveals answers, flashcard decks with saved progress, and a planner for learning goals and deadlines.
- MoneyImport account data you choose to see spending, subscriptions, upcoming payments and goals in source-bound dashboards.
- Health recordsBring your own Apple Health, FHIR or C-CDA exports into a separate local timeline where every entry keeps its source file.
- Legal researchOrganize public-domain authorities and your own documents per matter, with answers tied to the text they cite.
- Shopping and careersCompare sourced offers into a buying guide, or match job listings to your goals and prepare applications and interview practice.
- Scam checkReview a message, screenshot or page for specific scam signs, with the evidence, the uncertainty and how to verify independently.
- Campaign numbersMeasure campaigns from the CSV exports you supply, with every metric traceable to its rows.
- Write in my styleDrafts that follow your own writing, from samples you choose.
